Museum of Jewish Art in Ukraine
Appeal to the leaders of Jewish communities and organizations, politicians, philanthropists, cultural and artistic celebrities
The Assembly of the World Diasporas, established and registered as a non-for-profit organization (501c3) in the states of New York (2014) and Illinois (2017), brings together leaders from different denominational religious groups, ethnic communities, and diasporas living outside their metropolitan areas around the world. Our mission is to provide humanitarian charity, to create conditions for mutual trust between society and authorities, to strengthen cooperation in the protection of human rights and in effective opposition to international terrorism, all types of hatred, including racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, to develop mutually beneficial relations in various fields of science, economy, culture, sport, using the basic principles and tools of public diplomacy and the media.
On behalf of the Assembly of the World Diasporas, we have the honor to address you with a proposal that may seem unexpected and untimely at this historical moment, but at the same time, will become a very relevant and important international event both for Ukraine and the world community, especially for the Judeo-Christian civilization.
We are talking about the establishing of the Museum of Jewish Art in one of the cities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Odessa, Dnepr, Lviv), famous for its outstanding Jews, its Jewish history, culture and traditions, in fact the first Jewish Museum in Ukraine and one of the very few Jewish art museums in the world (Israel, the Netherlands, the USA).
The mission of such a museum, located in the center of Europe, is the assertion that the Jewish people are alive and will live, despite the Holocaust, pogroms, ancient and modern anti-Semitism. The museum's exposition will be a clear confirmation of the tolerance and peacefulness, genius and talent of the Jewish people, regardless of where Jews live and work.
The Museum's activities will also be largely aimed at providing charitable humanitarian aid to residents of Ukraine who suffered during the Russian troops invasion of sovereign peaceful Ukraine.
The Museum will display works of art (paintings, graphics, sculpture, etc.) by outstanding Jewish artists from several countries of the world, which will be given to the Museum free of charge for the exhibition for a set period (for example, 6 months), after which some of the paintings will be put up for sale at an internal auction. The funds received in the established proportion will be transferred in the form of charitable donations, for example, to children's medical institutions, the Museum and the authors. At the same time, the Museum's exposition will be constantly updated in order to be able to exhibit new works every 6 months.
Among the authors who can participate in this charity project are world-famous artists of Ukrainian origin like Mikhail Turovsky, Samuil Kaplan, and many-many others (the list is open).
Artworks of these masters of different genres are presented in many museum and private collections in America, Europe, Israel, and were also presented at numerous personal and collective exhibitions in New York (including the UN headquarters), Philadelphia, Chicago, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Paris, Madrid, London, Geneva, Brussels, Venice, Kyiv, Bordeaux, Lille, and other cities of the world.
