Charity Projects

Our public non-profit charitable organization, the Assembly of Diasporas of the World, was registered in the USA in 2013. The founders of the organization are the leaders of various ethnic communities who live both in the USA and other countries of the world, including Ukraine. The mission of the Assembly is to realize the potential for cooperation and coordination of the actions of the leaders of the world Diasporas aimed at providing humanitarian charity assistance to needy peoples and countries in difficult economic and social situations. At the end of 2015, we received a letter from the President of Nationalities of Ukraine, Mr. Rovshan Tagiyev, asking for humanitarian assistance to medical institutions in Ukraine, in particular, the city of Uman. The Assembly of Nationalities of Ukraine was recommended by the leaders of public and religious organizations for cooperation as an authoritative charitable organization. The Assembly of the Diasporas of the World, understanding the difficult humanitarian situation in Ukraine, appealed to the leaders of the ethnic communities of New York with a request to provide charitable assistance to Ukraine. Within three months, medical goods and products were collected, including equipment for hospitals (beds, wheelchairs, mechanical and electric lifts, oxygen production apparatus, special anti-decubitus mattresses, etc.), hygiene items, products and devices medical purpose. All of the above was loaded into a 40-foot container and delivered through the port of Odessa to the city of Uman, from where it was distributed to medical institutions in Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kiev, Donetsk and other areas under the control of the Ukrainian state. We express our deep appreciation and gratitude to the American diaspora leaders and businessmen Isaac Vainer, Alexey Kuzmin, Rabbi Bob Kaplan, Mohammad Razvi, Pastor Gilford Monroz Monrose , Mikhail Nemirovsky, Slava Bortnik, as well as representatives of Ukraine Rovshan Tagiyev and Joseph Steinberg, for the assistance indicated in the collection of humanitarian aid in the United States and its distribution to medical institutions in Ukraine.

Leo Bard,
Co-Chair of the Assembly of the Diasporas of the World
